Our Purpose
We want to build and develop an inclusive working environment that empowers and celebrates all LGBTQ+ individuals across the collegiate University and its affiliate partner institutions. We welcome anyone of a minority sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, as well as their allies.
We achieve this by:
Advocacy:
We aim to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion throughout the University of Cambridge, and where necessary challenge existing systems and practices.
We will raise awareness of inequality where it exists and champion good practice.
Community:
We provide opportunities for mentoring, networking and socialising, and run events designed to share experiences and knowledge.
We want to promote staff leadership and mutual support, and strengthen the LGBTQ+ community across the University.
Collaboration:
Working with Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) partners, other staff networks, and student groups, we want to make our institution an exceptional place to work for everyone.
Many barriers are intersectional, differentially impacting LGBTQ+ people depending upon their race, ethnicity, social status, gender, age, disability, and many other characteristics.
We all share a responsibility to dismantle those barriers. Working together is the best way to achieve this.
