University governance
The LGBTQ+ Network Committee works with the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Committee, and the University's Equality Champions.

We also work with the other diversity networks when we're aware of intersectional issues or when promoting events.
University policies
Below is a list of employment policies or processes which are likely to impact LGBTQ+ members of staff. The specific policies which apply to you will vary depending on whether you are employed by the University, a College, or an affliated institution. We are unfortunately not able to maintain a list of all policies for all employers covered by the Network, and the list below only includes policies which apply to those with a contract of employment with the University.

The University's Equal Opportunities Policy. This describes how the University intends to meet its legal and moral obligations surrouding ED&I.

The University's Dignity at Work Policy. This describes the University's stance on bullying and harrasment in the workplace, and what you can do to access support and resolve the situation. The Dignity at Work Contacts are available to help you understand this policy and the processes associated with it.

The University's guidance for risk assessments of overseas travel.

The University's anonymous inappropriate behaviour reporting form. This is for employees and students to anonymously report bullying, harrassment, or other innappropriate behaviour.

Emergency Contacts. The Staff Counselling Centre has compiled a list of contact details for emergencies.

The University's Adoption Policy. This includes how much paid and unpaid leave you are entitled to, details of Keeping in Touch (KIT) days, implications for funding and pensions, and what your return to work will look like.

The University's Paternity Leave Policy. This describes the leave available to those who will be raising a child but are not taking the main maternity or adoption leave.

The University's Special Leave Policy. This covers a few types of leave, including time off for fertility treatment and unpaid leave for emergencies involving dependents. It also states that time off relating to gender reassignment is managed and recorded following the Sickness Absence Policy.
