Welcome Event 2025 with Sacha Coward

We were excited to kick off this academic year by inviting Sacha Coward, author of Queer as Folklore, to share his insights into myths and legends from a queer perspective.

Sacha introduced three iconic character types: mermaids, vampires, and robots. He discussed their classical origins, modern reinterpretations, and the authors who have contributed to these intriguing stories.

Following the talk, we spent some time socialising and getting to know one another within the network while enjoying refreshments.
