Transgender Day of Remembrance 2024
Published on
Wednesday, 20 November 2024
20 November is Transgender Day of Remembrance, an important day for us to remember those who have lost their lives to transphobic violence. Today serves as a solemn reminder of the worldwide violence faced by transgender people and honours the memory of those who we have lost.
To mark the event, we partnered with Anglia Ruskin University and local community groups to use art as a medium of expression. We were joined by Cambridge Sing Out Community Choir, a local LGBTQ+ community choir who shared with us some reflective and joyful songs. As a community, we all joined to create a collage for Transgender Day of Remembrance, which will be displayed in the Cambridge Central Library.
